Get music from your iPhone or iPod touch onto your computer
Do you have unbacked up music and need to get your music off your iPod? This guide is for you On regular iPods: enable disk use instead of using iPhone folders, open the iPod, enable hidden files and folders then open the iTunes media folder. Download iPhone Folders: iphonefolders.com Just can’t get it to work?: www.ipodrobot.com EDIT: I’ve noticed that iPhone folders hasn’t gotten updates recently, so if it doesn’t work for you, try using iPhone Explorer. You can get it at www.macroplant.com To use iPhone Explorer, just launch the application, plug in your device, and use the left side bar to navigate to Media, iTunes_Control; and copy the files out. Just make sure to kill all iTunes related processes if you don’t want it to be synced. Also, as of writing this 8/23/11, I got an error when I ran it about a safari system file–CoreFoundation.dll–being changed (even though I don’t have safari) but was still able to copy files from my iPod touch 4.
